Chris Pratt sent the internet ablaze earlier this week when he suggested that Guardians
of the Galaxy Volume III had begun shooting. Sporting his usual Peter Quill mutton chops, the actor took to social media to announce that it was day one on the set of the highly anticipated triquel.
After the news that Will Poulter has been cast as Adam Warlock, it really feels that we
have started the ticking timer towards Volume III. Director James Gunn has since clarified that while the movie has not started filming, the cast and crew are on set to start rehearsals and camera tests.
Gunn earlier this year confirmed that he started storyboarding the movie, suggesting that
production is very much underway.
The movie is set to follow up on the events of GotG Volume 2, Infinity War/Endgame,
and Thor: Love and Thunder, in which the Guardians will appear. It is currently unknown how
much they will appear in Thor, but we are certainly excited to see what kinds of mischief the
Asgardians of the Galaxy get up to during their time together. Moviegoers got a glimpse of the Guardians alongside the God of Thunder in Avengers Infinity War and Avengers Endgame, with the team showing heart and a lot of laughs.

High off the success of Suicide Squad, James Gunn is returning to direct the movie. It is
likely to be the last of his Guardians trilogy in the MCU. Alongside Volume III, Gunn and the
team will be filming the Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas Special. This special is set to be the first of its kind for the MCU and according to Gunn, it is canon and directly ties to the events of GotG Volume III.
He also suggested that secrets would be revealed in the special.
For now, Gunn has confirmed that GotG Volume III has not been delayed by Disney amid
the latest setbacks. Movies that have been delayed include Doctor Strange: Multiverse of
Madness, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and The Marvels. Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 is still slated for a May 2023 premiere, and the Christmas special still on for a Christmas 2022 release date.
With Chris getting his sick-ass mutton chops back, Karen Gillan having to cancel her appearance at Telford Takeover Comic-Con due to a filming location change to Atlanta from London, actual filming is only round the corner!
