Amy Pascal reveals a new Holland Trilogy WILL happen… and hints at the three Spiders appearing in No Way Home!
By Zan Haider
Get ready for another Internet meltdown! After the ticket frenzy that ripped apart movie theater websites last night, Amy Pascal sat down with Fandango to discuss the future of our beloved web-head. Specifically, here are the main takeaways from the interview:
This film is the culmination of the Homecoming trilogy
The story establishes Peter’s development into the Spider-Man character we are all familiar with
This film forces Peter to make decisions/sacrifices that involve family, love, and honor
Peter brings humanity, humor, and heart to the film
The story revolves around the friendship of Peter, Ned, and MJ
This is NOT the ending of the Marvel/Sony partnership; Holland’s next trilogy is currently in development
MCU, Spider-Verse, and Sony’s Spider-Man Universe characters are only utilized in crossovers if it’s additive towards the story
Miles Morales will only be introduced in live-action when the story is agreed upon
Tom’s Spider-Man will always remain in the MCU
The future of Spider-Man is looking bright and I cannot wait to see Miles in the MCU! However, Pascal’s closing comments grabbed my attention; when asked about what she hopes the audience takes away from this film, she commented,
“You know, Spider-Man is different for each person at different ages in their life, you know? He means one thing to you when you're a kid, he means another thing to you when you're in the middle of your life and another thing to you when you're older. I hope everybody finds that in this movie. I really think the movie is for everybody, and I think that it speaks to a large audience. And that's what I'm hoping.”
Let’s combine those comments with the rumors we’re all privy to:
Tom’s Peter is beginning his journey as Spider-Man.
Andrew’s Peter (rumored) would be in the middle of his Spider-Man career, if he truly does appear in this film.
Tobey’s Peter (rumored) would be the oldest of the Spider-Men, if he also appears in this film.
And all three characters would be at different stages in their life, thus viewing the mantle of Spider-Man differently.
