“This is going to be fun. I love these @Marvel series.” – subtlety isn’t his thing, is it?

Nov 17, 2021 D’Onofrio decides to take the promotion for Hawkeye to an entirely different level. From his iPhone he tweeted a fun little gibe to all the Marvel fans across the world; that his variation of the Marvel character ‘Kingpin’ could possibly appear opposite Jeremy Renner’s Clint Barton and Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop in the upcoming Marvel Studios Hawkeye show.

Looking at this from an enthusiastic POV it seems highly likely that this could be the entrance into the MCU that Vincent’s agent has been looking for. After all, Wilson Fisk (Kingpin) does operate in the gutters of society, a place Clint spent his isolated 5 years cleaning up during his regretful time as Ronin between the events of Infinity War and Endgame. We know that Barton has a knack of rubbing people the wrong way and that Fisk is notorious for not letting any rock be unturned in his criminal underworld, making it yet again seem plausible that Hawkeye features on Fisk’s ‘Naughty List’.

Netflix’s Daredevil tv show debuted in 2015 and has run through 3 impressive seasons. The third season has garnered the audiences and critics approval and has become a classic in Marvel storytelling. It achieved an 8.6 IMDb score and a solid 92% on RT. Although fans are encouraged to neglect the objectiveness appeal to comic book screenplays, Daredevil is an exception – a statement to the ‘False-Believers’ that comic book properties are not wasteful.

Previously on ‘Is this actor reprising their role in the MCU?’ – show, on Sep 13, 2021 Vincent also tweeted a poem he wrote about a three-legged dog. The reference to a semi-disabled dog might suggest that he’s inferring about the one-eyed Golden Retriever that Clint saves in the Matt Fraction and David Aja (2012) Hawkeye run, of which the show is based on. The dog was pre-named Arrow by the Russian ‘Bro’ gangsters, a name that Barton decidedly changed to Lucky. Whether this poem is a key message or simply a cool showcase of his literacy skills, we can only speculate.

Following this development, D’Onofrio went on to like a considerable number of tweets regarding his involvement in the series, driving Daredevil purists into manic frenzies. Another possibility is that he does appear in Hawkeye but not as Wilson Fisk. When reviewing Vincent D’Onofrio’s successful work can only pre-emptively drive for his addition in the MCU.

For those of you that haven't seen the tweet for Kingpin himself, it's on the left for you. Most people would scroll past without giving it a second thought, but as Cap said, 'Not us'.

It would make sense that with Charlie Cox being supposedly featured in 4 upcoming MCU projects that Daredevils biggest enemy would make a return... right?

Hawkeye premieres this Wednesday with episode 1 AND 2! Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) is featured once again, joined by Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld) and Yelena Bolova (Florence Pugh), in an all new Christmas themed Disney+ show.
